Goldene Krone looks back on more than 330 years of hospitality — a hotel woven into the history of the Harz.

Founded in 1690 as a guesthouse in the mining town of Clausthal-Zellerfeld, our hotel survived two devastating fires, in 1725 and 1844, and was lovingly rebuilt each time. After a longer closure, we reopened in 1992 and have since run Goldene Krone as a family-owned 4-star hotel with warmth and dedication.

Today, owner Jolanta Waldner personally welcomes you and your dog to Kronenplatz — in the centre of this historic university town and health resort, 560 metres above sea level.
